Form a Foam printing and Altered Books

This is the work of the amazing book artist Sarah Morpeth this is altering books to the extreme isn't it wonderful????

i'm going to be demonstrating at the festival of quilts again this year and i've been trying to think of something new to demonstrate and i've been experimenting with form a foam or hot blocks if you get them from Nid-Noi you can warm them and impress texture into them to print with. today i've been working out how to use the prints so i've decided to make boxes, heres the beginning of the project and planning.

these are the prints i've been making the top orangy coloured prints are from a block impressed into a basket lid. the bottom prints were taken from a leaf. i've been using acrylics and sponging the colour on, it's great fun and if you use different colours layered one on top of the other you can get some great effects. more later......

Lovely - I remember when you showed us this technique at Broughton (Emb.Guild workshop) - I still have the block I made impressed into some of your printers' type. Can't bear to part with it!
